How Often Do You Check in With Yourself?
Let's explore why you're only a child in a bigger body
You’re just a child. You wanted to be an adult as a child, but you always seek to escape from it, let’s be real.
That escape often comes in what resembles the freedom of a child. However, this escapism often leaves you unfulfilled. Temporarily satisfied only to look forward to the next fix. As an adult, your distaste with this vicious cycle usually leads you to the act of self-care.
Self-care is not an option, further elaborated on in this post. Most don’t ask why we as “adults” have to be retaught how to take care of ourselves. In every aspect of our lives, with the primary emphasis on the internal aspects.
Anybody can get a job. But does everyone have the capacity to look out for themselves? To do a mental inventory, making sure their energies are managed properly in the pursuit of their purpose?
As a kid, this was your parents’ responsibility.
“Johnny, are you okay in there? You sure? Okay…it got a little quiet, just wanted to make sure…” or “Susie, you can talk to me if you need to. I’m your mother, I won’t judge you.”
Although you’ve experienced lifetimes in different bodies with your soul, every time you incarnate you have to go through the same experience. Knowing how to assess and manage your emotions is one of the most important life skills.
This becomes a problem if your emotions are neglected. If your parents did not check in on you, you still developed patterns in ignorance. Favoring certain behavioral patterns while other emotions are left to fester, surfacing at their own time. When we undergo implementing self-care in our routines, we inevitably face our inner child. You possess the same mind, body, spirit, and soul of the mini-me version of you. At some point, that kid’s mind turned into survival mode. Whatever’s best for Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, and everyone else to not stand out. To not be weird. To not get on anyone’s bad side.
This manifests in a life of people pleasing, addictions, and a mismanagement of emotions. The ignorant perpetuation of stress maintains the disconnect between you and your inner child. The younger, innocent version of you is that which represents freedom. Omnipotence, omnipresence, and omniscience in your reality.
This involves the necessity of remembering yourself. Re-membering yourself. Putting the broken pieces of you back together. After living a life of illusions, self-care becomes more important than ever. The imprint that ignorant programming had on your thoughts, beliefs, actions, and behaviors manifested into the life that you hate, but tolerate.
When you are at rest in your mind, you can assess and manage your thoughts correctly, effectively, and efficiently.
This is when you’re in tune with yourself and self-aware. There is no hesitation, doubt, nor is there an interruption between your left and right brain. There is a seamless transition from one moment to the next. This is often referred to as flow state.
This is where you’re constantly asking yourself questions:
“How are you feeling right now?”
“You good? You straight?”
“You doing alright? Okay”
Doing that constantly throughout the day is you intentionally seeking to place your mind at rest in the alpha state. Even in activities like daydreaming, this resembles the activity of your subconscious mind as a child.
This is why your intuition is always telling you what to do, where not to go, because that is the caring part of your mind. That is the back end source of your reality, the home office that projects and protects your reality.
When you think according to this part of your mind that has most of the power, you control your life and rule your life the way you see fit. Most importantly, you design your life in alignment with your purpose. The man makes the house but the woman makes the home. There would be no house without a home.
The only reason why the man makes the house is because it is a potential home. That's what matters in the end. After a long day, it's what makes the stress dealt throughout the day worthwhile. Working with your subconscious mind connects the pieces of the puzzle.
When someone is enlightened or going through a spiritual awakening, it's a revelatory period. Your subconscious mind shows you why things had to be the way they were. Through you trusting it, you develop self-trust and confidence that no matter how it looked, I trusted myself and I still went the right way.
Ask yourself, what do you want to do most of the time? You either want to sleep, to turn your mind off. To be alone. To be away from the problems of life and recharge. Or you want to do anything that puts your mind at rest, be it your interests and/or passions.
Putting your mind to rest is having a command over your entire body, telling all of your cells that it is time to shut down. That's power, just over your body. "We'll deal with it in the morning."
Even being in alpha state while you're driving causes you to "forget" you're driving...but you're still driving. People can only joke about this relatable situation because we all go through it. The most interesting part is your intuition snaps you back into "reality" just in time. It works while you're in it, even if you don't realize it, and it taps you back in right when you need to pay attention.
Honoring that part of your mind allows you to be the King, the Queen, the prince, the princess, the entire royal family of your kingdom including the King's Guard. This is when your awareness has no weaknesses. Your senses are heightened, more sensitive to any changes in your mental, spiritual, and physical environment. More importantly, your awareness is automatic, with less conscious effort.
The higher you raise your vibration, the more spiritually protected you are. This is why you see in spy movies where automatic turrets and motion detectors have to be avoided. They are specifically programmed for one thing: monitoring, detecting, and alerting. Security systems are supposed to make up for the unreliability of human senses and awareness. This is why there's such a surge in security systems because the purpose is to put your mind and all of the home's inhabitants at ease. This is the power of your subconscious mind in a restful state of mind.
Sensitivity to the vibrations around you increases when you allow your mind to work for you. Most of us believe that we have to hustle, grind, and make things happen. Submission is true power. Going against the grain, which is the calling of your life, makes things seem hard.
A restful state of mind puts you in the state of a constant, automatic "What's that over there mentality?".
An automatic monitoring, detection, and action sequence based on knowing your vibration, your worth, and what you deserve. This is why your intuition leads you into situations where you are angry.
Anger gets things done. Anger gets you talking. Anger gets you moving. Anger taps into the solid core of your emotions. It is one of the most powerful forces which is why spirituality teaches you to put anger in its place, to master your lower nature, and to tame the beast.
Being able to scope out the scenery of your mind, being able to have a damn near conversation back and forth in your mind, detecting thoughts and beliefs that are not yours and questioning their presence objectively, that's when you are truly in control. Kingdoms and regimes survive based on internal monitoring more than safeguarding them from the outside.
"Hmm, never seen you around here before. But you're in here. Who are you? State your name and your purpose."
"Yeah, you don't need to be here. GUARDS!"
Contrary to popular belief, you are most alert when you're at rest.
Some of the scariest villains and antagonists in our favorite shows are calm and collected. Confident in their skills coming online at the exact time they need them to.
Constantly assessing your mind does not mean being cold and distant. It means you're willing to walk up and down the halls of your mind, whatever bogs, swamps, deserts, and forests. Leaving no stone unturned. When you elevate in your mind, it requires you to be aware of what was "hindering" you. What thought did you allow to stay rent free in your mind without checking its credentials?
No matter where you step in your mind, a restful mentality allows you to take charge. You assess the inventory of your thoughts without fear. You look at intruders and traitorous thoughts as being in your mind. No apologies. No hesitation when dealing with things that have nothing to do with your purpose. Outdated modes of thinking be damned, they must be removed.
You are still a kid, no matter how much you've "grown up", matured, or become a responsible law-abiding adult. The child within you holds all power to the salvation of your soul.
Check in with yourself more than you check your phone.
