Astrotheology and the Body Pt. 3: Etymology - The Linguistic Origin of Things
The forgotten power of words in scripture, science, and the story of self
Everything involves an origin story. The initial point from which all emanation develops and expresses itself. The core of creativity, that initial intent just like the cosmos that expands and evolves.
We have concluded, even before delving into the signs, that the body is a living scripture. Physiological processes of the body, in Man and the cosmos, were written down using symbols, allegories, and stories. Everybody loves a good story. A sequences of causes and effects that keep the reader engaged, immersed, and involved in its development.
Before we explore the body of man and the cosmos, it is crucial to understand that the words we use are stories in, as, and of themselves. They are living entities that we use, recruit, hold place for and send forth on a daily basis. We keep them alive while they help map communicative pathways to understanding. Words, however, are no longer treated as living things. Unfortunately, modern man has deemed words unnecessary, only to achieve a form of quick exchange. Even to the extent of “small talk”, an occurrence I have yet to discover is pleasurable to anyone.
Symbols are the original language
Contrary to popular belief, words are not just vocal labels used to categorize, group, and organize. Just as people do not speak just to speak, so are the meaning behind the words not be discarded. Words are what link these stories together. A picture is worth a thousand words, but the painting of that picture with words is just as effective. Our ancestors encoded spiritual, cosmic, and physiological truths in story form.
In our journey through the symbolic processes of Man and the cosmos, we will see in great detail why the original language is that of symbols.
Symbols surpass any spoken language, thereby making them somewhat universal. Hence, why the ancient mind and societies were inculcated with mythologies. “Complex” topics made simple through the use of art, creativity, and the imagination. That is the pathway beyond the literal, beyond the surface. This is why the exoteric involves the masses. The esoteric is for those attuned to the vibration of the behind-the-scenes, the spiritual realities, the unseen truths, the occult stories happening alongside and influencing the physical.
Richard Chenevix Trench, a well renowned philologist, in his book The Study of Words, exclaims:
“I am sure that, for many a young man, his first discovery of that fact that words are living powers, are the vesture, yea, even of the body, which thoughts weave for themselves, has been like the dropping of scales from his eyes, like the acquiring of another sense, or the introduction into a new world…”
Studying the history of words takes you beyond what we use it as today, connecting one with its most potent force: its original meaning. What it was used for initially helps us understand the actual meaning versus the evolved meaning.
Simply put, words are transmitters of knowledge. Just as sunlight is processed to continue life, so are words the containers of knowledge used to give life meaning. However, everything and everybody has an origin. At its inception lies the most potent force.
Hence, why children represent qualities such as innocence, purity, being unblemished, and free from the iniquities of the world.
🗣️📣In the coming weeks…
We’ll walk sign by sign through the Zodiac, exploring how each governs a part of your body, and a key to your spiritual and physical regeneration, starting with ♈️ Aries 🐐.
Alongside this journey, I’ll also be sharing special interlude articles. These will dive deeper into the broader mysteries of spiritual physiology, alchemical processes, and the hidden allegories found in sacred texts. Like Part 1: The Immaculate Conception and more!
These interludes will serve as deeper study into the arcane mysteries of spiritual physiology, the alchemical processes and hidden allegories in the text we know as the Bible. Some of these interludes will be placed in between, hence the name, our main breakdowns of each astrological sign, their scriptural/allegorical connections, and their practical applications. They will serve as guideposts and fresh perspectives, reminding us of the holistic process, contrary to the myopic view of modern society and the priesthood’s ulterior motives.
This is a learning process for me as much as it is for you. This shall be a living series, evolving and expanding as we move forward!
